(More customer reviews)The science behind this product certainly sounds convincing and I gave it a shot, but the application method is far too broad to be useful.The bottle it comes in has no means for controlling the flow of product into your water stream.As a result, it comes out at whatever rate your water hose is spraying.My one bottle only covered about 500 sq ft. and I was not going slow or trying to saturate the ground and foliage.I was walking at a slow pace and sweeping back and forth to make sure all my grass and bushes got wet, but not lingering or just letting it run.I was very disappointed when the product ran out and I was only half way through my back yard.Since I didn't get the whole yard covered, I can't really say if it was effective on curbing our mosquitoes or not.I didn't notice any decline in the population.Maybe if I had gotten the whole yard sprayed?But I seriously doubt it.I think if it was going to really help then spraying half the yard would have at least made them drop off a little.Perhaps it would help to pour the product into a dial sprayer?But there are no instructions for this or to tell you what to set the dial sprayer to.Going to try geraniol next.

MQ7 offers an all natural, non-toxic Mosquito Outdoor Control formulation that is safe enough to use around children and pets. Unlike other chemical based products containing Organophosphates, MQ7 can be applied as often as needed without the lingering ill effects of toxic residue. MQ7 is made from scientifically modified, highly concentrated cedar oil. Throughout history, cedar has been known to repel insects naturally and this is why today we are accustomed to the use of cedar products, such as closets, chests and other cedar wood products. MQ7 will repel fleas, chiggers, mites, ants, mosquitoes, scorpions, grubs, flies, gnats, moths, no-see-ums, ticks, silverfish, carpet beetles, earwigs, crickets, spiders, firebrats, palmetto bugs and grasshoppers. For over 10 years, a team of scientists have contributed to the development of MQ7. We have identified the very few components within a specific cedar species that have the ultimate repellency property. We take those components and scientifically-modify the cedar oil to intensify these components to come up with our highly concentrated proprietary formulation of MQ7. MQ7 is not a contact kill such as other chemical based products containing Organophosphates. MQ7 is a much safer alternative. We feel, if a chemical can kill an insect on contact, the side-effects of the chemicals are not worth sacrificing human and environmental health. MQ7 works as a repellent because of an insects' olfactory system's intense dislike for the smell of cedar. In our own test, we thoroughly sprayed an average sized back yard 20' x 200' with MQ7 Mosquito Outdoor Control and within 15-20 minutes, noticed the significant decrease in the number of insects in the treated area.
